Promote Graduate Education Excellence
OBJECTIVES PROGRESS Advance graduate education quality by identifying and modifying any problem areas, clarifying ambiguity, promoting consistency, and encouraging fairness Extend efforts to compile and provide outward-facing, value-driven graduate education-related data beneficial for decision making Annual Program Report Cards are available that include funding information and career placement Expand efforts to enhance quality advising and mentoring 3043 graduate students have completed the virtual orientation, which constitutes the majority of the current graduate student population. Re-Orientation takes place during the early weeks of Winter Quarter and is open to all graduate students, with 30-35 campus partners participating in the Partner Fair.

OBJECTIVES PROGRESS Evaluate funding efficacy for underserved populations Explore continued funding initiatives to support the implementation of enhanced recruitment initiatives Successful grant proposal to UCOP HSI DDI: Bridge2PhD: Experimental and AI Research Pathways for HSI Scholars (2026) in collaboration with California State University, San Bernardino
Coordinate and enhance programming to better support diverse students, domestic and international Create an alumni community and support structure that reflects the diverse nature of UCR’s educational and professional environments -
Advance Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Fellows Professional Career
OBJECTIVES PROGRESS Coordinate and enhance opportunities to assist students and fellows in developing professional skills Serve as a central resource for career development opportunities for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows Opening of GrAdvantage in the Rivera Library, providing a collaborative space with theTADP and the Teaching and Learning Librarians to train graduate students on library resources and pedagogy Strengthen offerings to prepare graduate student teaching assistants and graduate students with an interest in pedagogy In the 25-26 academic year, 16 students received the University Teaching micro-credential, showing exponential growth in the program and increased interest and awareness. -
Promote Interdisciplinary Opportunities in Graduate Education
OBJECTIVE PROGRESS Identify opportunities to better enable Interdisciplinary Graduate Degree Programs and academic colleges to work together. -
Invest in the Success of the People who Work in the Graduate Division
OBJECTIVE PROGRESS Address Staffing Levels, Staff Flexibility, Staff Safety, and Professional Growth Core operational hours are fully supported, ensuring each unit is staffed for in-person work Monday through Thursday with a minimum of one staff member
